Unlike generic cameras or number plate cameras, this one can be mounted anywhere on a flat surface that has enough space. This is especially handy when you have a camper with barn/twin doors.

If you had barn doors and bought one built into the number plate light it would be off to one side. With our camera you can still install it in a grab handle but you are able to position it closer to the centre of the van to give you a more accurate view of what's behind you (which is the point after all).
